back from the brink

Three cheers for being back in the blogosphere! Have wenched myself from the clutches of Facebook and de-tagging horrendous photos of myself to preoccupying myself with some delightful blogs of late (disclaimer: shameless plug coming up) namely A Chick Named Hermia and White Rabbit. Go read.

So as you can tell, je suis inspired. I was one of those deluded dreamers who proudly declared during my mid-teen crisis that I was going to be a writer for the rest of my days; unkempt hair, green tea and glasses i don't need but felt it added to the overall visage. This was pretty short-lived once i discovered my inner health freak (cycling like a mad thing at breakneck speed was the new black) and that i was in fact, a TV junkie;  literature was something to bother with when there was nothing exciting on the box.

So here i am again, almost two years down the line and all the wiser than when i first started as a shy lil Christian girl from the sticks in Norn Iron branching out on her own in Dublin.

I'm pleased to say i've emerged mostly unscathed. I reside in a lovely apartment when i've no plans, have built up a lovely social circle of all sorts of colourful characters (and some who are just completely unhinged). I have managed to hold onto my job and use the rewards to pay for holidays and tops i don't need from asos.com. I have exciting travel plans for Asia this summer and one of my good friends is having a baby (just the thought of seeing a mini, cuter version of said friend is enough to send me on a mad spree in Mothercare)

The proverbial cherry on top however, is that somebody loves me. Yes, that love where you have access to unlimited cuddles, random cute text messages in the middle of work, catching their eye in a crowded room and knowing what they're thinking, having a code language, literally jumping with glee when they have texted to say that they are 5 mins from your building, someone randomly telling you you're beautiful when you are just watching a film on tv (Katherine Heigl 0 -1 Rachael). altogether now: awwwww!

I have very good intentions of filling this post with lil randomisms about my life gone by and fun happenings as they come. Headig out now for a few drinksies with friends so i'm leaving you in the name of craic, but i'll be back (hey, that rhymes!)

my Tuesday

...i'm moving up in the google world, sent my first email to a customer today - can i get a whoop whoop?! it took me 1.5hours to perfect, but who's counting?! Fpund myself wishing i had a smaller, close-knit team...its a bit testing at times when you can't really get to know any one person really well. Doesn't help that there is so many people coming and going all the time also - gah! Gotta persevere though...i can take heart in the fact that i have made lots of good friends so far and theres no reason why i can't do the same here at work. Team night out on Thurs which will be a massive challenge but one that i probably need. Struggling a lil with the awl faith also, don't have the same fire i used to and it worries me ever so slightly. What a bleak blog! Oh! kirsty scored a job today off my dad...so strange to think of my best mate and my dad sharing the same office! scary biscuits! oh i want a biscuit. need to excercise, mon derriere is spreading out at unspeakable angles. Roll on October - my fun activity filled month of sign language, football, role-modelling, concerts and (fingers crossed) Alton Towers.

Some snazzy photos to jazz up the blog (...my poor neglected blog!) of my first ever night out with Googlers in Temple Bar (we're such tourists!) 'Twas a merry night of pear cider, crepes and Rafael's hip swinging...what a lovely bunch.
Tonight sees my first official team night out to the dogs...i'll probably be too busy scoffing the finger food and commenting on how malnourished the poor dogs look to open my purse and indulge in a bit of (gasp!) gambling...should be interesting!

back from sick leave...have left the kidney and chest infection in Norn Iron. On a brighter note...i had potato bread for breakfast, and brownies for lunch (i heart the Google chefs, they know me so well). also bumped into one of my interviewers today...that was one face i didn't think i'd be seeing again!

anyhoo...hometime is here, wahey!

green fingers...

back on blogger...been working like a trooper and somehow managed to injure my back in the process. maybe this calls for a free Google massage in the not so distant future...? maybe i should just stop working so darn hard and sit up properly in my chair, aye. moved into my new house at the weekend, settling in nicely and love my new flatmate...shame she's leaving in 2 weeks (sob!) still, will be seeing some fresh faces in the next few weeks coming to view the house so i can take my pick! hopefully will find someone who is likely to be a friend rather than just a flatmate so girls, same age and attitude to yours truly are automatically fastracked...resiting the urge to have an x-factor style contest and have the guys from RTE over to catpture the whole excruciating elimination process. Weekend sees the lovely Kirty descending in Dubbers for the Irish banter which i look forward to immensely...she can help me do the garden...

a random Tuesday night....

My day? trademarks, Innocent smoothies, ping pong, Kenny, the google gym, daydreams, prayers, analytics, confusion and september 11th just about sum it all up...decided to jazz this thing up and be the proud owner of a snazzy blog. Watch this space to see whether i keep it up!
by the way...i heart Jack Johnson
(ITN news habe just informed me that my beloved Norn Iron is flooded and they're all running for the Mourne Mountains...eek!)
